How to Support Students with Dyslexia - Shared screen with speaker view
hello? is anyone talking?
it's recording? but I don't hear anything?
looks like we are waiting for the host Katherine?....
Everyone is on mute right now. Does this meeting start at 3:00 or 2:00?
I thought it was at 2. but maybe it is 3. weird...
is this just through MDUSD or are there other persons not from MDUSD?
Email I received from MDUSD today at 1:25pm states 3:00. I will check out and return later.
thank you Sara
yes I just checked and it says 3
is this presentation for parents too? or just teachers?
hello Kathy! :)
Hi Andrea :)
will you share your powerpoint later
is there anyway to print these slides so we can have them on hand and to take notes during presentation
Sorry to be a pain! Thank you so much
I was told to not use Zoom, which has a white board and share screen feature. I am using Google Hangouts. It does not have a Whiteboard feature. I would like help on how to present videos, images, and a whiteboard using Google Hangouts.
We can all send you our emails in the chat! Mine is firstname.lastname@example.org (Monica Harris)
i have found that google hangouts and classroom only work when students have @mdusd.net account. my students are preK so they do not have emails yet. and mommies and daddies don't have mdusd emails
I have been creating lessons on a YouTube Channel and then texting the lessons/readalouds to students
I have been doing share and story time on Zoom with my preschoolers. the speech therapist comes and we work on language and turntaking.
In regards to breakout rooms... is anyone's aid working? I thought they were not.
My principal said they are trying to negotiate with aides.
i need to learn how to do break out rooms... and I need to learn how to do the waiting room... i need to find the link for the Zoom training videos
Can you use screen share so that we can see what you are looking at please?
Our students are using Kami to annotate
support.zoom.us has Zoom video tutorials
how do we find the online spire?
I joined one of them today. It was great. Highly recommend.
how do we find out when the sonday trainings are?
go to the Sonday website, they have a link to sign up for them
the website is Winsor Learning, not Sonday
Are these all free online?
Here is the link to the Mild/Mod resources page. It has great links including the Sonday trainings. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iBHAmIpPeNw3PreAYoQAM5j5BqzRrtGPGJHQlaUYcog/edit?usp=sharing
If we have already been trained on Sonday, is there a way to just access the digital lesson plan book?
How do we access the SPIRE digital files?
I dont think Explode the code online is free or has a free trial. Anyone know otherwise?
read naturally is great for marking the text for AVID
did she share the SPED resources for students? i got the mild moderate one but I do not recognize the one she is looking at
Another great way to do math at middle school is the eureka Math section of Khan Academy
Please put up the link to what you just shared in the chat.
We have been told to use Sonday at the middle school level
yes please the link of resources
that is cool though. i want to use that myself.
Thanks, Kathy! Gotta go
thank you for the links
Thank you so much. This was helpful.
This was all very helpful! Thanks for the resources, too. Thank you Kathy!
We were told to not use Zoom due to a security breach.
Thank you very much!
you can record the session then you can adjust your presentation. of what works and doesn't be patient
That is a fabulous idea! Some of us have been asking for that! I know of others who are interested in getting together with other RSPs!
be patient with yourself. for me I think it is special to connect in this way. I am giving the children time to explore this resource and talk to each other.
it is about connection and relationship building. trust. working out the kinks together. you can mute the kids that keep interrupting
